Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify which learning style is preferred, specifically between auditory and visual learning, and to compare those two on the significance of their differences to the academic performance of senior high school students in De La Salle Medical Health Sciences Institute. This study is done online as the curriculum recently

adopted online learning and HBALMs which is the substitute for face-to- face classes. This study utilized the Purposive sampling technique. This

technique was used to choose the respondents that is relevant for the research study. This study also adopted the modality (learning channel preference) questionnaire by O’Brien (1985) for the data gathering. The results of this study showed that 92% of the SHSSHS students in DLSMHSI preferred visual learning, however, out of 4 tables regarding the significant difference on the Academic Subjects of visual and auditory learners of DLSMHSI-SHSSHS, only 1 table showed that there is a significant difference. In conclusion, the findings of this study indicates that there were only little to no significant differences between the academic performances of SHSSHS auditory and visual learners in DLSMHSI.
