Abstract
This study was designed to provide new and relevant data about the significance of the Dengvaxia controversy awareness towards the Imuseños’ vaccine hesitancy on the future COVID-19 vaccine. It focuses on the respondents’ standpoint towards availing of the future COVID-19 vaccine. The researchers utilized the correlational method to understand the data from the study. A total of 202 individuals residing in Imus City, Cavite with ages 18 years old and above answered an online questionnaire through Google Forms that comprised 30 questions and were answerable through a 4-point Likert Scale. The findings of the study were treated statistically through SPSS. Based on the results of the study, there is a positive correlation between the two variables as the Dengvaxia controversy has a
significant effect on the respondent’s standpoint on availing of the future COVID- 19 vaccine. The researchers conclude that a medical controversy with Dengvaxia contributes to an individual’s COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. The higher the respondents’ knowledge of the Dengvaxia controversy, the more accepting they are of the COVID-19 vaccine. The researchers recommend performing the survey on a larger scale to obtain data that can accurately represent a province.
