Abstract
Republic Act 11223 otherwise known as Universal Health Care Act of 2019 is a landmark legislation that aims to provide equitable access to quality health care for all Filipinos. This act seeks to reform the health system, make primary health care its foundation, and establish a health care provider network to improve service delivery and achieve better health outcomes. This study will use qualitative research design to highlight the perspectives of healthcare providers who will play an important role in the success of the Universal Health Care (UHC) law implementation. Their views, concerns, expectations, and perceived challenges will be explored in relation to their practice. This paper aims to inspire future studies and researches to investigate the provisions of the UHC law, with hopes that these can be used by policymakers to make necessary future amendments, and be of help in realizing universal health care for the Filipinos.
