Abstract
In any aspect of the individual human being, there will be corresponding changes that can occur and it can manifest as either progressive or regressive. In the literatures of Social sciences, a family has been defined as a group of persons who are united by marriage, blood, or adoption, which constitutes a single unit, with eventual interaction and communication with one another, and creating and maintaining a common culture. In essence, a family structure has been specified as the arrangements of those family members into the status and role, authority, and communication patterns intended to fulfill common human needs at a family level.
The complex structure of a family setting includes dramatic components that have fundamental relevance to an individual’s level of functioning. A significant number of studies have correlated family structure and educational performance, and it has been found to vary depending on the type of family a person has. In the Philippine setting, educational attainment has been determined to be a part of a multi-factorial event that determines long-term economic success, but this is a function that corresponds to a myriad of independent and demographic variables.
