Abstract
This study utilized a cross-sectional study under analytical-observational study. A total of 294 students were initially selected in the study, wherein 24 of them were excluded due to possible confounding variables. Subjects were selected using probability type stratified random sampling among 1st year to 3rd year medical students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute who were 18-35 years of age, never been pregnant and non-user of hormonal contraceptives. A self-administered questionnaire was used in the study. Data was analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean and Chi-square test. The study concluded a p-value of 0.1295 which signified that there was no relationship between nutritional status and the occurrence of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) among medical students in DLSHSI S.Y. 2013-2014.
