Abstract
A cross-sectional study was used in this research. Eighty-six (86) high school students from private school and 86 students from public school were selected by stratified random sampling. The study made use of a modified adopted questionnaire. Data was analysed using prevalence ratio and chi-square. The results showed the prevalence of obesity was higher among public high school students. This was associated with the likelihood that students in the private school have more access to proper and balanced nutrition. They were also more conscious to health and fitness as compared to students of public high schools who may have other priorities such as their livelihood.
