Abstract
The study aimed to identify whether there was a significant difference in the anxiety level of scholars and non-scholars from first to second years medical students in De La Salle Health Sciences Institute (DLSHSI) using a cross-sectional study design. The study was conducted among first year to third year medical students using stratified random sampling. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) questionnaire was employed as a tool for the detection of anxiety level among the sample. Data was analysed using t-test, mean, frequency, and percentage. The researchers derived a p-value of 0.14 using the t-test for the difference in mean HADS score, which led to the conclusion that there was no significant difference between the anxiety level of scholars and non-scholars from first to second year medical students in DLSHSI.
