Abstract

The researchers used the Cochrane Database and systematic reviews as a guide in conducting this review. An initial screening of 229 journals was narrowed down to 145 journals after duplicates have been removed in order to proceed to the initial screening of journal analysis. A total of eight (8) journal articles remained after conducting the initial screening. The researchers did a full-text screening on the remaining eight (8) articles to check each studies relevance to the current view. Out of 8 articles, only one intervention study by Chang and colleagues (2016) was concluded by the current review. the only intervention remained for the review is the Joint Attention Symbolic Play Engagement and Regulation (JASPER) Intervention. The results of the analysis for the JASPER intervention show that there is minimal effect in the symbolic play of children with ASD between 3-to-5 years old upon using Joint Attention Symbolic Play Engagement and Regulation Intervention.
