Abstract
The research involved a systematic review of journals found in Cochrane database. An initial screening of 229 journals was narrowed down to 145 journals after duplicates had been removed. A total of eight (8) journal articles qualified after conducting the initial screening. A full-text screening was done on the eight (8) articles to check the relevance to the current review. Only one (1) intervention study by Chang et. al. (2016) was included in the review, which involved the Joint Attention Symbolic Play Engagement and Regulation (JASPER) Intervention. The results of the analysis for the JASPER intervention showed that there was a minimal effect in the symbolic play of children with autism spectrum disorder between 3 to 5 years old.
