Abstract

This study was done to determine the intentions of radiologic technologists to work abroad. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design. An adapted questionnaire was used to collect data, which was analyzed using percentage and chi-square. A total of 92 radiologic technologists from 17 different hospitals in Cavite participated in the study. The majority of the respondents are female, with a monthly income ranging from Php 10,958 to 21, 044, and majority have the intentions to work abroad. In terms of push factors, low salary/wage was ranked as the greatest push factor, and high incidence of natural calamity was listed as the lowest push factor that contributes to the intent of radiologic technologists to work abroad. On the other hand, a better environment for foreign workers was ranked as the highest pull factor, while improved safety and security was ranked as the lowest pull factor in radiologic technologists’ intention to work abroad. There are no significant differences in the intention of radiologic technologists to work abroad when categorized by sex and monthly income.
