Abstract
This study attempted to determine the relationship of parental role to the academic performance of Radiologic Technology freshmen of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo during the first semester SY 1994-1995. This study sought to determine the academic performance level based on the GPA of Radiologic Technology students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo during the first semester S 1994-1995, the types of parents that the respondents have, and the significant relationship between the types of parents and the academic performance of the respondents. The descriptive survey and documentary analysis were used to find out the relationship between the types of parents and the academic performance of Radiologic Technology freshmen students. The GPA of the respondents who were enrolled during the first semester SY 1994-1995 and their responses based on the questionnaire checklist were carefully tabulated in textual form. They were tested and interpreted by using mean, standard deviation, percentage, ranking and chi-square. It can be viewed from the findings of this study that the type of parents is related to the academic performance of the students. Percentage wise, there is more friendly type of mothers than fathers. Even though, parents were of friendly type, the academic performance of the students were still of the satisfactory level. Perhaps, there were other variables that affected the students' performance which are not included in this study.
