Abstract

The research used a descriptive-survey method. Respondents were 56 graduates of De La Salle University Health Sciences Campus who took licensure examination in June 2001, who comprised the total population, selected using purposive sampling technique. Survey questionnaires were the tools for data gathering. Statistical tools used were mean, standard deviation, coefficient variation, and Pearson product moment Correlation. The following conclusions were formed: 1) The academic performance of the respondents was satisfactory and homogenous; 2) The licensure examination performance of the respondents was poor and homogenous; 3) There was no significance differences in the academic performance and licensure examination performance based on gender; 4) There was a very small positive correlation between academic performance and licensure examination performance. Academic performance could predict the licensure examination performance to a very small extent.
