Abstract

The descriptive-survey method was used in the study. The respondents were 52 fourth year students of the College of Medical Radiation Technology, De La Salle University Health Sciences Campus enrolled during the 1st semester School Year 2000-2001. The questionnaire checklist was adapted and modified from the study Herzberg et. al (1959). Documentary analysis was also used to determine the grades for the academic performance of the respondents in the radiological sciences subjects. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, percentage, mean and t-test of independent means. The study concluded that, 1) There were equal number of male and female respondents; 2) Both the motivator and hygiene factors were considered moderately motivating by the respondents; 3) The academic performance of the respondents was satisfactory. They have a mediocre performance which could still be improved; 4) There were no significant differences in motivator factors when the respondents are grouped according to gender; 5) There were significant differences in academic performance when the respondents grouped according to gender. Females performed better than males; 6) There were no significant differences in the academic performance when the respondents are grouped according to motivators and hygiene factors.
