Abstract
Education serves man in his relation to man in the effective continuation of his own living. It directs man's thoughts towards the total effect of learning, the end and goal of which is successful achievement of his chosen career and lifestyle. Academic performance is one of the many requirements looked into and taken as basis for continuance to a course or employability. The increasing demands for radiologic technologists, and technicians to assist the medical team in the task of determining man's ailments and cure have lured many youth to enroll in this course. Associate in Radiologic technology. At the start, it was a male dominated course but lately the females have invaded the field. Before this was non NCEE course but since the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) was offered NCEE cut-off score was made a requirement for admission. More so because those who finished the ART course still offered to pursue the BSRT. The study was undertaken primarily to find the relationship between the academic performance during pre-training and internship training of thje Associatein Radiologic Technology students of De La Salle University Emilio Aguinaldo College, Batch'91. Specifically, the study sought to find answers to the following questions: (1) What is the profile of the ART students according to sex? (2) What is the academic performance of the respondents during their pre-training? (3) What is the academic performance of the respondents during their internship training? (4) Is there a relationship between the academic performance during pre-training and internship training of ART students of DLSU-EAC Batch 1990-91? This null hypothesis is to be tested that: There is no relationship between the academic performance of during pre-training and internship training periods. The descriptive - narrative method of research was utilized in view of the nature of the problem of the study. The main tool was the Official Grading Sheets of the students which were readily made available by the Registrar. Other bits of needed information to verify the data gathered were given during the unstructured interview with the respondents who were the researchers classmates in their BSRT course. The Tally-Frequency and the Chi-Square Test were used to analyze and interpret the data obtained to prove the relationships of the variable brought out in the study.
