Abstract

The main objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the factors that determine the career choice and the academic performance of the fourth year radiologic technology students of DLSU - Aguinaldo, SY 1995-1996. Specifically (1) To know the factors that determine the career choice of fourth year BSRT students of DLSU - Aguinaldo SY 1995-1996. (2) To know the level of academic performance of the respondents during their first two years in college. (3) To know the relationship between the factors affecting career choice and the academic performance of the respondents. The study covered a total of 59 fourth year students of Bachelor of Science in Radiologiic Technology enrolled during the first semester of SY 1995-1996. The descriptive analytical method of research was used in this study. With the aforementioned findings the following conclusions were formed: (1) A big percentage of respondents viewed radiologic technology as the diagnostic eye of medicine and the biggest motivating factor is employment abroad thereby promising a higher salary. (2) The respondents have a satisfactory academic performance . It is therefore concluded that RT students have a mediocre performance and this can still be improved. (3) Their perception about the course and their motivation do not affect their academic performance. Therefore, there must be other factors that affect their performance.
