Abstract

The descriptive method was used. The respondents were 813 fourth year high school students from private and public schools in District 3 of Cavite. Cluster sampling was utilized to select the schools. Data was collected using a self-made questionnaire and analyzed through mean, percentage, ANOVA (F-test), frequency, independent t-test and standard deviation. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were female, studied in public schools, the family income was below P10,000, and had no relatives working in the hospital; 2) The knowledge of fourth year high school students in District 3 of Cavite on diagnostic applications was very good while the knowledge on the therapeutic applications was good; 3) There was a significant difference in the knowledge of fourth year high school students in District 3 of Cavite on diagnostic applications of radiation when they were grouped according to gender, type of school, monthly family income and family background. There was a significant difference on the knowledge of fourth year students on therapeutic applications of radiation when they were grouped according to monthly family income.
