Abstract
The research employed the descriptive method. The respondents were 449 families from three (3) barangays lying in the coastal community of Dalahican, Cavite City with a total population of 6,893. Stratified random sampling was applied in the selection of respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean and f-test. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were from nuclear type of family, had 3-6 household members and had a monthly family income of P1,000-P5,000; 2) The total level of hope of the respondent families living in the coastal community of Dalahican, Cavite City was high; 3) The total quality of life of respondent families living in the coastal community of Dalahican, Cavite City was moderately high; 4) There was a significant difference in the level of hope of respondent families living in the coastal community of Dalahican, Cavite City when grouped according to monthly family income which attained the highest mean level; 5) There was a significant difference in the quality of life of the respondent families living in the coastal community of Dalahican, Cavite City when grouped according to monthly family income which attained the highest mean level; 6) There was a very small negative correlation between the level of hope and quality of life of the respondents.
