Abstract

The study utilized the descriptive method which involved 800 fourth year high school students from 11 schools in the 2nd district of Cavite selected using purposive sampling. The questionnaire was adapted from Fauni and Herrera’s (2010) study "Knowledge of 4th year high school student regarding diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiation.” The statistical tests applied were frequency, percentage, mean standard deviation, t-test and f-test (ANOVA). The following conclusions were drawn: 1) Most of the respondents were female, had monthly family income below P10,000 and had no family member working in the hospital; 2) The over-all knowledge of the respondents on the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiation was good; 3) Gender, type of school and monthly family income were significantly associated with the knowledge of the respondents regarding diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radiation’; 4) Family background was not significant in the level of knowledge of the respondents.
