Abstract
The descriptive method of research was used in the study. Using stratified random sampling technique, a total of 170 third year and fourth year radiologic technology students were included as respondents. The researchers used a self-made questionnaire to determine the effectiveness of retention policy as perceived by third year and fourth year radiologic technology students of DLS-HSC during school year 2005-2006. Frequency, percentage, mean, t-test and f-test were employed to analyze data. From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) Most of the respondents were male, belonged to third year level and had a GPA of 81-84 (satisfactory); (2) The respondents perceived the retention policy as effective to a great extent. Therefore, college retention policy was a good tool that helped RT students become responsible. It raised the quality of education in CMRT of DLS-HSC and produced qualified future radiologic technologists; (3) Gender, year level and GPA showed no significant relationship on the perception of RT students regarding the effectiveness of retention policy.
