Abstract
The study used the descriptive method. The respondents were 397 couples of Brgy. Lapidario Trece Martires City, Cavite and they were selected using convenience sampling. The research instrument used was a modified adapted questionnaire from a related study regarding family planning. Mean, percentage, frequency, Mann-Whitney Test, Kruskall-Wallis Test and chi-square were the statistical tools used. Based from the findings gathered in this study, the following conclusion were drawn: (1) Majority of the respondents are age 35 years old and above, Catholics, reached tertiary level and have monthly income of P10, 000 and below; (2) The preferred family planning method of the selected couples is the rhythm method, a type of natural method; (3) Most of the respondents prefer to use natural methods because it requires no surgery, medication and cost because most of them have a monthly income of below P10,000; (4) There is a significant difference when the respondents are grouped according to their age in terms of tubal ligation and IUD methods. The null hypothesis was rejected. (5) There is a significant difference when the respondents are grouped according to their religion in terms of the rhythm method and the condom for female. The null hypothesis was rejected. (6) There is a significant difference when the respondents are grouped according to their educational attainment in terms of the rhythm method. (7) There is a significant difference when the respondents are grouped according to their monthly income in terms of cervical mucus method, rhythm method, abstinence, IUD, pills injections, condom for male and female, tubal ligation and vasectomy.
