Abstract
This study made in the light of assessing awareness of physicians regarding Physical Therapy. To be precise, this study made to have insights on how physicians perceived the importance of Physical Therapy in Total patient care. The study selected 15 tertiary hospitals within Metro Manila. There were 225 physicians chosen as respondents for this study, used the cluster sampling method to identify if the physicians were from the Department of Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Urology. The qualification of a Physician to become a respondent in this study should have two or more years of professional practice. As a result, only 151 physicians who were aware of Physical Therapy out of 225 physicians. That the data analysis and conclusions based on answers. Mostly all the hypotheses stated at the beginning of the study proven true. To conclude, the authors recommend a similar study to promote Physical Therapy in our school hospital through symposia or seminars thereby increasing awareness of the physicians affiliated with De La Salle University Medical Center. Thus, increasing the referral rate of the patients needing rehabilitation and ensuring total patient care.
