Abstract
This study used descriptive research design, with 20 patients as respondents, and used simple random sampling as a technique. To determine if standing balance has a relationship with a side of paresis and if gait deviation and side of paresis were connected. Patients took various hospital activities by Physical Therapy Interns of De La Salle University-EAC. The patients treated either in the hospital or at home. There are two parts of the investigation; the first therapy was standing balance with different criteria listed by the researchers. When the patient passed the first criteria, they will be included in the next part of the study. The assessment was the second criterion of gait and used four temporal distance values, the patient asked to walk with inked foot soles along with the 10-meter computer paper three times. The velocity and cadence used a timer to know the speed, the stride or step length measured using a tape measure. The results of the study showed that the percentage of the right hemiparetic, with a good standing balance, was higher than the left. However, the percentage of patients with a poor standing balance was higher than the left. The value of the temporal distance characteristics of both groups was far below normal, while the left hemiparetic results were lower than the right except for cadence that showed no significant difference.
