Abstract

This study was done to determine the general opinion and impression of allied medical professionals of allied medical professionals on Physical Therapy. fifty medical professionals - 10 from each of 5 major affiliation centers - were chosen as subjects of this study. Respondents were classified as follows: Doctors (10), Nurses (17), Dentists (3), Medical Technicians (6), Nutritionist and Dieticians (5), Occupational Therapists (3), and X-ray Technicians (6). questionaires were given to the respondents and data gathered were analyzed and tabulated. The study reveals that majority of the respondents believe that they are aware of Physical Therapy and its importance as an allied medical profession. their awareness of the cases which necessitates Physical Therapy management proves this. However, less than half of the respondents claim that they are aware of the works of a Physical Therapist. Therefore, a continuing Physical Therapy awareness program is important.
