Abstract

This study employed qualitative research used interviews. Respondents chose from three (3) rehabilitation centers where PBA players sought physical therapy treatment. The least frequent injury was contusion and inflammation. This observation seems to indicate that PBA players are getting reasonable training and preparations to prevent injuries. However, this may only apply to such well organized and adequately funded groups like PBA. Since basketball is the game of the masses, it is highly recommended that adequate educational programs and information campaigns be extended to all players in the country. This is to prevent or minimize the occurrence of such preventable injuries. The Philippine Basketball Association can take the lead. Further studies recommended more results that were conclusive and to fill information gaps on related subject matters.
