Abstract

This study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique. A self-made questionnaire distributed to 121 Filipino male students from Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy ages 18-21 years old at De La Salle University - Emilio Aguinaldo College through simple quota sampling. The data from the questionnaire tallied, tabulated, and analyzed the gathered data's percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The measurement of trunk mobility, and an essential part of clinical examination, was a simple procedure called Schrober Test used to Ankylosing Spondylitis patients. Stratified sampling by age level to obtain a sample population of 30% of the target population. All subjects questioned regarding the presence or the absence of any low back pain. Besides, a gross examination of the spine done to confirm the presence of any deformities, qualified subjects for criteria measured for Schober's Test. The statistical tool for this study used measures of central tendency, particularly the mean and the standard deviation. The students aged 18-21 tend to be lower than the value set by foreign studies. The researchers highly recommend that Schober's test conducted among Filipino males that tend to increase or decrease trunk flexibility.
