Abstract
This study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique with self-made questionnaires with pictures distributed to 300 students from grades 2-4 at Dasmariñas Elementary School through simple quota sampling. The written instrument was in Filipino for easy comprehension of the respondents. The data from the questionnaire tallied, tabulated, and analyzed, and interpreted using frequency percentage and mean. Based on the findings, the researchers concluded (1) most of the respondents were male, ages 7-10 years old, and about 25% of the students have not met disabled children, 75% expressed total involvement, exposure to disabled children made the students have a positive reaction towards disabled. (2) The respondents within this age group were already at the stage where social acceptance was essential to them, so that for the disabled child, events that could lead to social isolation may have dire consequences. (3) Respondents know the way to act in the presence of a disabled peer, (4) to avoid pre-judgement the child needs proper knowledge and exert honest effort in trying to get to know the disabled peer beyond his/her physical appearance.
