Abstract

The study was conducted to described the clinical practice of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo Physical Therapy Graduates in the United States of America. It identified the different conditions under the areas of clinical practice where the graduates encountered difficulties. Results of the study provided the researchers with baseline information on the clinical practice in the United States of America. The survey instrument used in this study was developed based on an interview made with some of the returning Physical Therapist currently working in the United States of America. It was mailed to 1989 De La Salle University-Aguinaldo Physical Therapy graduates. Only fifteen graduates responded to the survey. Data collected were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that all the different conditions under the areas of clinical practice that were identified were apllicable in the United States. It is alshoed that in general, majority of the respondents (40%) encountered difficulties during the first three to six months of working in the United States of America. Thirty four percent never had any difficulties even after six months of working in the United States of America. The researchers recommend that a follow-up study involving a greater number of Physical therapy Graduates be made, preferably coming from several batches, to obtain a sufficient study population. Furthermore, ample time should be allotted to this study and this should be undertaken by a bigger number of researchers.
