Abstract
The study is intended to determine the reactions of Third and Fourth year student and Faculty of the first semester school year 1994-1995 regarding its transfer to the University Medical Campus. This reaction Focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of the transfer; their sentiments. Wishes and demand; the comparative reaction of the different components: Environment and Facilities, Interaction with Medical Students, Students Outlook, Administrative Procedures, and Medical Lecture's Accessibility; and the Percentages Distribution of those who favor and do not favor the transfer. The study on the reaction of the said population turned out to be more in the favor on the transfer than those who do not favor. The study was a total of 491 respondents used in the study. The Physical Therapy Third Year Student consisted of 234 respondents which was equivalent to 48% of the population. There was 231 Physical Therapy Fourth Year Student which was equivalent to 47 of the population. The Physical Therapy Faculty had 21 respondents and they formed 5% of the total population. No sampling technique was used since the total number of the students and faculty of the College of Physical Therapy became the respondents. A 40 item questionnaire was constructed with the assistance of a consultant. The items were intended to elicit reaction to different statements which would determine whether the respondents favored the transfer of not. The questionnaire were grouped and tallied according to the three of respondents, namely: a) PT 3rd year students, b) PT 4th year students, c) PT Faculty. The students and faculty perceived that the transfer is more advantageous to the college since it is more accessible to medical lecturers, more laboratory equipments and is more conducive to learning. The percentage of those who favor and those who do not favor the transfer is : PT 3rd year- 90.08% for, 9.92% against; PT 4th year- 86.7% for, 13.3% against; and the Faculty- 92.6%, 7.4% against. Total: 89.79% for a 10.21% against. There was no perceived disadvantages especially on the part of the faculty. But the student fear the increase in school fees and difficulties in office transactions that will come about due to the transfer.
