Abstract

This is a case of J.R a 22 year old male patient from Dasmariñas, Cavite who was diagnosed to have a Hypoxic Encephalopathy, Heart Failure secondary to Electrocution. The patient was re-evaluated for the purpose of establishing a 24 hours management for prevention of secondary complication and achieving the highest possible functional capacity of the patient. The researchers have identified problems that may hinder the patient in achieving his highest functional level. This problems include grade 2 spasticity on the (B) UE/LE, LOM on the left shoulder, incoordination, nil standing balance, poor standing tolerance and dependency in self care activities. Therefore the researchers have recommended some architectural modification and continued PT/OT treatment to further improve the patient's condition. The researchers recommend that the future researchers perform a reassessment of the patient's progress or follow-up whether our recommendation were followed and implemented and if those recommendation had worked for the patient in attaining the highest functional independence. A checklist is provide by the researchers for the purpose of monitoring the patients progression or regression. This research can be beneficial for the patient, who is after all the most important member of the rehabilitation team. And so the fight continues.
