Abstract
This descriptive study aimed to determine the common disabilities using survey technique. Self-made questionnaire was distributed to 84 household with a total of 165 family members as a respondents it is composed of mostly farmers and housewives in Barangay Burol Main, Dasmariñas, Cavite chosen through simple quota sampling. Data was analysed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results revealed the following: (1.) The most common disability was easy fatigability. (2.) The most common conditions were of the Medical and Surgical types. (3.) More males are disabled than females and, (4.) Most of the individuals who have these disabilities belong to the 40-55 year old age bracket or middle adulthood. the authors recommend that a primary health care program in Barangay Burol Main be established to provide the residents with a more convenient and effective rehabilitation program. A direct involvement of the whole community is of vital importance for the success of the program. A strong commitment from the members of the rehabilitation team is further recommended that they shall willfully devote their time and efforts in bringing rehabilitation services to those community members who have disabilities.
