Abstract

Fracture cases are among one of the major causes which would gravely affect an individual particularly his/her functional capacity. It could leave the individual to be completely dependent or have great difficulties for the rest lives in line with severity of the injury inflicted during the accident. Other factors should also be considered to be able to assess the rehabilitation outcome of the patient. That is because a younger individual sustaining multiple fractures would have a better prognosis than an elderly individual. With the severity of the case, it would only leave the patient slight damage we could predict for a good prognosis, regarding an elderly patient who sustained greater damage which would leave him/her immobilized secondary to deconditioning, a poorer prognosis would predicted, therefore an intensive PT program is much needed to be able to meet patient's problems. Home program is also of important to be able to continue patient's rehabilitation program. Thus, the case of T.M., a 64 year old, non-hypertensive, non-diabetic, married female patient from Trece Martires City who was diagnosed to have cerebral contusion rule out intracerebral bleeding with multiple fractures secondary to vehicular accident is being presented to be able to show the importance of providing intensive physical therapy program and adequate and complete home instructions to prevent complications in a multiple fractures geriatric female patient's with multiple fractures secondary to vehicular accidents and had developed multiple contractures on both U.E and L.E, thus, unable her to do basic A.D.L's without any difficulty. It is hoped that this case would provide for a more intensive home program given to patients, especially those who really needs to undergo rehabilitation but couldn't due to several factors, this is also hoped to provide incoming researchers to be able to follow-up and revise the prescribed exercises, if necessary, for the patient's benefit.
