Abstract

This is an analytical on the board exam performance of physical therapy students (regular and irregular) of DLSU-HSC from batch '95-'98. there were 671 graduates who took the August board examinations from '95-'98. Records of each batch were reviewed and analyzed using the chi-square test. Results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between the type of student and the August board examination of batch '95 and '98 while there was no significant relationship between the type of student and the August board examination of Batch '96 and '97. A significant relationship was observed upon summing up the 671 graduates of the 4 consecutive years. The researchers therefore concluded that there was a significant degree of relationship between the type of student and the Augudt board examination performance from '95 to ;98 nad that most board passer were regular students. The researchers recommended the following: That another study be made concerning the factors responsible for the good performance of batch '95 in the board examination and the reasons why the preceding years did not do as well. It would also be of help if a study be made which will evaluate each subject aspect of the board exam in order to ascertain the areas that need much emphasis. And lastly, the authors recommend that a special study program be provided for the irregular students in order to improve their chance in the board exam.
