Abstract
this was a study on the most common musculoskeletal pain among maintenance personnel of DLSU-HSC. The objective of the study was determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain among maintenance personnel of DLSU-HSC. the study was conducted at DLSU-HSC. A total of 34 maintenance personnel of which 29 were considered qualified were given questionnaires. The data were gathered through distribution of questionnaires. The proportion of maintenance personnel in DLSU-HSC who experience musculoskeletal pain during work is 85.29%. Nape pain had the highest distribution having a percentage 41.38% out of the total population. Maintenance Personnel belonging to 21-25 y/o age group had the majority of having nape pain. as to the frequency of occurrence of pain during work, 73.53% sometimes experience pain while 11.76% always experience pain and 14.71% do not feel pain at all. It was shown that nape pain was common among male (53.83%) those who work as housekeeper(41.67%). Based on the study, a seminar on proper body mechanics and joint protection technique and further is highly suggested to the college of PT and to the Housekeeping department will greatly help those maintenance personnel suffering from this musculoskeletal pain.
