Abstract
Cerebral Palsy is perhaps one of the serious pediatric condition affecting a lot of Filipino children nowadays. Basically, cerebral palsy remained to be a condition that hinders a child from living a normal ambulant life. The question health professionals were commonly asked by parents of such children, " will my child be able to walk" were so familiar but answering them still is no easy task but thanks to existing prognostication tools such as Molnar's and Bleck's and other contributing factors it can be assessed as early as 1 y/o . A study of the latest record of ambulant patients of a center specializing in the field of treating cerebral palsy patients can be great use as a reference and information as to coming up with an answer to the same question and with this, a study was implemented at the Philippine Cerebral Palsy Incorporated where 100 subjects who fit criteria of having a complete records of initial evaluation , progress notes and discharge notes from January 1991-December 2000 were picked purposively. They were classified according to the type of CP, age of onset of CP, age gestation, status of standing and ambulating ability of the patients and distributing of patients according to age and sex. Information sheet per patients was used by the researchers to record the gathered data and serve as a checklist from the data reviewed. Data gathered were recorded and summarized into appropriate tables and discussed according. From the data gathered, through the review of chart of ambulant CP patients in PCPI from January 1991-December 2000 results of the study showed that Majority of the patients belong to the spastic group specifically the diplegic group which has the highest frequency, age of onset was common during ability, most of the patients ambulate with assist rather then independently, majority belong the 1-4 and 5-8 age groups, were born full-term and belong to the male group has a percentages of 52%.
