Abstract
The study was about the rate of employment of La Sallian Physical Therapists, from Batch 1994-2000 in the Philippines. It dealt with its causative factors and resolutions as a social problem. Its objectives were directed towards determining the rate of employment, employment profile as to PT and non-PT practice, factors affecting employment setting in the Philippines, US and university/environmental framework and solutions to resolve the existing problems. The study utilized the descriptive type of research design and used 3 methods to gather data questionnaire, observational technique and actual interviews. Results showed that there is a relatively low rate of PT employment in the Philippines from batch 1994-2000. Some PT resort to non-PT practice and some are unemployed. Several factors were cited to contribute to this problem and possible solutions were given to this problem. The authors concluded that Pt employment problem is existent and its impact is reflected to majority of the respondents. PT has a low rate of employment not solely because of DLSU-HSC College of PT education but because of several other factors which are not dependent to each individuals. The challenge to the College and every member of the community is to face a complex future with a competitive skills and mind amidst the crisis.
