Abstract

The research conducted has shown the return rate of thrombotic stroke in-patients from Dasmariñas, Cavite admitted at DLSU-MC and JRPNMC Hospitals to out-patient PT for the year 2000. The main objective of this study is to determine the return rate of stroke in-patients from Dasmariñas, Cavite admitted at DLSU-MC and JRPNMC hospitals to out-patient PT for the year 2000. Specifically, the researchers aimed to determine the number of referred thrombotic stroke in-patient and returns for PT in a monthly basis at DLSU-MC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and at Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Foundation Inc. Rehabilitation Center. The sample population gathered had a total number of 672 respondents ; 254 (37.80%) of which came from JPRNMC and 418 (62.20%) from DLSU-MC Hospitals. From these admitted stroke in-patients, the chosen respondents residing at Dasmariñas, Cavite alone had a total of 269 patients; 124 from DLSU-MC and 145 from JPRNMC. And from these , the number of thrombotic stroke in-patients had a total of 143; fifty-five from DLSU-MC and 92 from JPRNMC Hospitals. From these thrombotic stroke in-patients who were referred for physical therapy had a total number of 76:21 from DLSU- Mmc and 55 from JPRNMC Hospitals. The return rate then of the total population gathered from DLSU-MC Hospital was 13 patients and 35 patient from JPRNMC. All in all, the return rate of thrombotic stroke in-patients from Dasmariñas, Cavite to out-patient physical therapy is 63%.
