Abstract
This study predominantly aims to describe women's knowledge, attitude and perception in their participation in dance aerobic class. Women's profile as to age, civil status and educational attainment were put into consideration. Descriptive method was being utilized and questionnaires were used to gather information. Out of 144 women enrolled in five gymnasiums surveyed by the researchers, 77 women were randomly selected. The study was concentrated on five gymnasiums found within Makati, Paranaque and Manila area only. Majority of the respondents are highly knowledgeable and have a very good perception regarding dance aerobic exercise. Though there are misconceptions, they are still highly knowledgeable ow what the exercise can give them. They have a very good attitude towards it and they enjoy the activity. Age, civil status and level of education affects women's participation in a dance aerobic class. Women from younger age groups, 26 - 30 and 20 - 25, tend to engage more in such activities compared to that of older age groups. Same with those single women has a higher frequency of attending their class. It maybe because of married women have a lesser time for such activity due to a greater task of handling a growing family they have. The knowledge, attitude, and perception of women towards dance aerobic exercise vary with the age, civil status, and educational attainment. The results were interrelated with the respondents' sociodemographic data. They are highly knowledgeable because majority of them have a higher degree of education, have a very good attitude and perception because majority of them are single and from younger age groups.
