Abstract
This study focused on the level of awareness of amateur basketball players in selected barangay in Imus and Dasmariñas, Cavite to the sports injury prevention which includes warm-up activities, cool-down activities and accessories used. It also determines the relationship of other variables such as age and number of years playing. Subjects. The participants of this study consist of 60 male amateur basketball players age 15 to 30 years old from selected barangay in Imus and Dasmariñas, Cavite. Methods. The study involved a descriptive method to be able to determine the level of awareness of amateur basketball players regarding sports injury prevention. 15-items questionnaire was used which was subdivided into 3 categories: warm-up activities, cool-down activities and accessories used. Each category comprises of 5 items. The researchers utilized a 5-point Likert scale to measure the score of the respondents. Results. It shows that the amateur basketball players had moderate awareness to warm-up activities and accessories used, but with minimal awareness as to cool-down activities. Conclusion. This included that In the 3 categories, the amateur basketball players had minimal awareness regarding sports injury prevention.
