Abstract
Physical therapy is the health profession dedicated to rehabilitation or prevention of disability, injury and disease, specifically related to movement and function of the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and integumentary systems of the body. The demand for the physical therapy changes over time. Likewise, the increasing disabled population will call for measures to produce good quality physical therapist that will help them recover. This study was conducted because of the group's inquisitiveness about the present working conditions of other PT graduates. The study aims to determine the sociodemographic, employment profile & fulfillment of DLS-HSC PT graduate batches 2002 and 2003. Gathered data were tallied and was obtained based on the frequency and percentage of the respondents who answered on the created online survey or on the hard copy containing 9 questions handed to them regarding sociodemographic, employment profile and fulfillment. Results shows that among the 140 respondents, 73 respondents were from batch 2002 and 67 from batch 2003. There were total of 116 net respondents and 24 respondents and 24 responded through personal surveys. Most graduate of the batch 2002 and 2003 are single and female. Age falls under the bracket of 24-26 y/o from batch 2002 and batch 2003 are within the range of 21-23 years old. Batch 2003 had a higher board performance than of batch 2002. Although, the results is lower than 75% ~ total of 61.83 for board passers and 38.17% for non-board passers. This prompted the graduates to look for another type of job or some left jobless since non-board passers cannot practice physical therapy itself.
