Abstract
This study aimed to determine the compliance of low back pain patients with McKenzie Extension Exercise of William Flexion Exercise Home Program at selected PT Centers. The study utilized a survey interview guide type of questionnaire that was written in English. The tool was divided into 3 parts . Preset of 30 patients from selected PT centers were chosen as respondents in the study. The researchers screened the respondents using the following inclusion criteria: (1) patients who suffer low back pain, (2) patients who were given a PT Home Program (either McKenzie Extension Exercise or William Flexion Exercise), and (3) patients who are willing to participate in the study. The findings of this study support the conclusion that compliance with Home Exercise Program for Low back pain is a complex and serious problem that involves multiple variables. The respondents in the study demonstrated that there were differences in compliance with those who were given WFE Home Program and those who were given with MEE Home Program. We therefore conclude that having an easy prescribed Home program as to number of repetitions, sets, frequency and duration was more followed than those with increase or doubled number of reps, sets, frequency and duration. We have also concluded that there were more complaint respondents in WFE than MEE probably because the position of MFE was easier than MEE especially if the minutes/ seconds hold were applied. the results of this study will relatively help the researchers to become more aware of giving a Home Program and how to prescribed a easy and simplified exercise home program as to number of repetitions, set frequency and duration especially in LBP patients. In the future as a professional Physical Therapists the study will remind the researchers to know the capability of the patients to follow the exercise home program based on the characteristics and models of compliance.
