Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive type of research design that aims to determine the level of competencies of the clinical supervisors in the different affiliated centers of De La Salle-Health Sciences, Campus College of Physical therapy. The subjects include 21 clinical supervisors in all affiliated centers of De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus College of Physical Therapy and all 108 Physical Therapy Interns of Batch 2007 were chosen as respondents of the study. The researchers used two sets of questionnaire. First, is the socio-demographic profile questionnaire for the clinical supervisor, which was distributed in each affiliated centers. The second is the evaluation questionnaire that includes 5 categories such as personal, professional, technical, supervisory and communication that was answered by the respondents on a 5-point scale. Based on the perception of PT interns batch 2007, the clinical supervisors of the affiliated centers of De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus has a high level of competency with a mean score of 4.16. Each competency obtain a high level for each competency with a mean score of 4.16 for personal, 4.20 for professional, 4.19 for technical, 4.10 for supervisory and 4.11 for communication competency. The level of competency of the clinical supervisors of De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus college of Physical therapy as perceived by the Physical Therapy Interns Batch 2007 is high.
