Abstract
This study is a descriptive cerrelational study that aims to find out how satisfaction of life based on the Biophysica Factors relate to the quality of life through the Quality of Life Profile Matrix. The respondents involved are adult patients with a neurologic conditions undergoing Pt, OT and speechtherapy at East Avenue Medical Center and the Community-Based Rehabilitation Center in Pila, Laguna. The participants were given two Likert questionnaires that were formulated according to the Ten (10) Biophysical Factors and (9) Quality of life Profile Matrixes. They are also instructed to choose one option for each questions that represents their view to measure their satisfaction with life and relate it to the quality of life. For the result of this study, female are more satisfied than males, the middle aged population has higher satisfaction rating than the other two groups, and those who are receiving therapy for less than one year was the one that got the highest satisfaction compared to those patients who received it for one year or more than a year. The parameters in this study that have direct association with the overall satisfaction are the following: Physical being, Spiritual being, Physical belonging, community belonging, Leisure becoming, Growth becoming, emotional status, basic needs, Spiritual beliefs of the patient, Community life. Other parameters found that it does not have any association with the overall satisfaction of the patients including Pyschological being, Social belonging, Practical becoming, Physical health, Intellectual capacity, Occupation, Job and education, and equal opportunity. Therefore we conclude, based on our findings, that to make patients be satisfied in their lives, having a strong interpersonal relationship shows that it could mazimize hteir own well-being. So that therapist are strongly advised to thoroughly assess interpersonal issues, establish a treatment goal that is making first the goals that the patient wants, and offer empirically supported treatments to enhance social functioning during the course of the treatment. The key implications of this for practice are that the goals of intervention, within a therapeutic context at least, do not target the client of being symptom-free but focus more on achieving the greatest life satisfaction he/she can possibly have in order for him/her to reach and improve his quality of life.
