Abstract
This is a descriptive study that determines the current employment profile of the Lasallian Physical Therapy graduate of batch 1983 to 2010. Specifically, their employment profile as to location of work (local or international), field of work (PT or not PT related), duration of employment, salary, work placement and the common factors affecting their employment were described. From the total of 2,974 Lasallian PT graduates, only 6% or 191 respondents participated in the study. The researchers surveyed the CPT graduates of DLSHSI Batch 1983-2010 through Facebook, a social networking site, to gather information regarding their employment profile. Results of the study showed that eighty four percent (84%) of the respondents are currently employed, 53% of them are working locally in PT-related and non PT-related jobs, Among those working in PT related works, majority or 63% of them are working as Clinical PT interventionist, twenty four (24%) of them are employed in their current work for less than a year and Fourteen percent (14%) of them are receiving Php10,001 - 20,000 montly salary. Fifty percent (50%) of the resepondents had other owrk placement before their current employment and 54% had PT interventionist as their work placement before their current. On the other hand, 36% of the total unemployed respondents has been unemployed for less than a year. Forty one percent (41%) of the respondents considered Economy as the most influential factor that affects their employment. The researcher then recommend that an in-depth study about the employability of Lasallian Physical Therapy graduates be pursued in the future.
