Abstract

The study utilized a correlational method of research and the population included the total enumeration of the two batches, Batch 2018 and 2019. Survey questionnaires were personally distributed to the respondents and through email. Frequency distribution, fisher’s exact, and cross tabulation were used for the analysis of the data. Based on the results, there was no sufficient evidence to determine the relationship between participation in extracurricular activities and academic performances. The result may be affected by the methodological limitations of the study which included the population size, grade requirement bias, and variables that were not considered such as the respondent’s time spent between doing activities and studying and their behavior towards their studies. The researchers recommend future studies to consider having a larger population size, deem on other factors that may determine relationship with the academic performance of the students such as time management, study habits, and behavior towards learning, and find reasons for students’ active and inactive participation in the extracurricular activities of their institutions.
