Abstract

This is a single pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental design that aims to determine the effects of short term yoga on academic stress of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Students of Batch 2019 De La Salle Health Sciences Institute. The yoga intervention had a duration of 15 minutes with five minutes for meditation, five minutes for the yoga poses/asanas, and the remaining five for a relaxation pose. The intervention was conducted for one week wherein one day was onsite in DLSHSI and the remaining six days in the homes of the academically stressed BSPT 4th year students of batch 2019. A validated survey was used to fulfill the objectives of this study. The data gathered showed that there was a significant difference in their pre-test and post-test stress scores after yoga. The researchers concluded that yoga had a positive effect in decreasing the stress of BSPT 4th year students after one week of yoga sessions.
