Abstract

It is a case series (descriptive) type of research design done in De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute wherein 4 participants were recruited but only 3 were able to complete the sessions. Three different elastic taping techniques were distributed among the participants and performed along with core stabilization exercises for a total of three non-consecutive days. To successfully carry out the general and specific objectives of the study, the researchers used outcome measures such as Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) for pain and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) for function. FFT showed the greatest effect when it comes to reducing pain as to immediate and short term. Star-shaped kinesio taping showed the greatest effect when it comes to improving function as to immediate and short term. Results showed that elastic taping has positive effects when it comes to pain and function. With this being said, FFT and the star-shaped method may be further observed in future researchers to aid in identifying its significant for clinical use.
