Abstract

The study aims to know the perspective of the Dasmarinas persons with disability on the implementation of expanded benefits and privileges as presented in RA 10754 by means of quantitative analysis, particularly using weighted mean, percentage, ranking, frequency distribution, ANOVA, and T-test to interpret the results of the data. The study was conducted in the City of Dasmarinas, Cavite, specifically in Barangay Zone II, III, and IV, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Barangay Burol 1 and 2 and Barangay Salitran III and IV, having 73 persons with disability as the respondents of the study. The group distributed several copies of the 36-item survey questionnaire to different barangays and were given to the respondents of the study to answer. The results showed that DPWDs is very aware on the parts of the law financial incentives, educational assistance, and other benefits and privileges. Furthermore, there is a significant difference as to the interaction to the law when respondents are grouped according to their type of disability. This indicates that depending on their type of disability, respondents have a varying degree of interaction to the programs of the law. Moreover, DPWDs always observe the efforts of the government such as the establishment of the express lane, educational assistance, and social participation. finally, the respondents strongly agreed on the impact the law made as to their health and environment, however, there was a lesser degree of agreement on the impact of the law as to their finance and education. Nevertheless, the respondents of the study report that the law have positively impacted their lives, thereby, DPWDs have a positive perspective as to the implementation of RA 10754.
