Abstract

This study will try to find out the relationship on the level of anxiety of post partum mothers to having critically ill babies in terms of perceiving the state of anxiety, when they are grouped according to type of delivery, presence of husband, economic status, parity, and age. This study was conducted at Jose Protacio Rizal Memorial Hospital, De La Salle University - Medical Center, Perpetual Help Medical Center, and Saint Dominic Hospital, 85 mothers served as respondents. Questionnaires were constructed, distributed, gathered, and checked using f-test.  Based on the statistical treatment and the gathered data, it shows that the level of anxiety that is being experienced by post partum mothers most of the time is mild. It revealed that the 5 factors when they were grouped accordingly do not affect the mothers level of anxiety.  Based on the findings of this study, the researchers concluded that there is no significant relationship on the level of anxiety of post partum mothers to having critically ill babies, even when they are grouped according to: age type of delivery, economic status, presence of husband and parity showing that regardless of any factors, post partum mothers capability and ability to render care is not greatly affected.
