Abstract

The study aimed to: 1. Determine the perception of faculty of De la Salle University-Dasmariñas on the image of Nursing practice . 2. Determine the attitude of the faculty respondents towards nursing education. 3. To find out if there is a significant difference between the image of nursing practice and attitude towards nursing education. Likert rating scale (Degree of Agreement/Disagreement) was used to determine the perception of the faculty respondents on image of Nursing practice and their attitude towards nursing education. The respondents came from different faculty in each department of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas campus. The total population of the faculty members is 317, excluding the part time and those in vacation, sick, and maternity leave. Twenty percent of the total population is 63. Thus, the researchers have the total 63 respondents from 13 different departments. Based on the obtained finfingd, these conclusions were drawn: 1. The highest perceived image of nursing practice gives highlight to nurse's role as an effective health care giver regardless of the setting. 2. The lowest perceived image of nursing practice implies that managing a client in any setting presents an opportunity to treat the holistic pattern of disorder. 3. The higest valued attitude towards nursing education suggests that the respondents understood the advance level of science in the BS nursing program. 4. The lowest valued attitude towards nursing education indicates that they still have a positive image on nursing profession. 5. It is concluded that there is no significant difference between the image of nursing practice and attitude towards nursing education. This implies that faculty respondents in general perceived nursing to be a high respondents fields of practice.
