Abstract

this study aims to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, civil status, length of service, and area of assignment. 2. To determine the level of self-esteem of the respondents in terms of age, civil status, length of service, and area of assignment. 3. To determine the clinical performance rating of the respondents in terms of age, civil status, length of service, and area of assignment. 4. To determine the significant relationship between self-esteem and clinical performance rating of the respondents in De La Salle University Medical Center.  This study focused mainly on determining the relationship between self-esteem to the clinical performance rating of the staff nurses at De La Salle University Medical Center in terms of age, civil status, length of service, and area of assignment all from the morning, afternoon, and night shifts. The ideal number of respondents was determined using the Sloven's formula. In view of the findings, the researchers have made the following conclusions: 1. The nurses at De La Salle University Medical Center are very young and inadequately experienced with regards to exposure to other hospital areas. 2. The level of self-esteem of the nurses shows that they have the needed self-esteem to do their job well. 3. The average level of self-esteem of the respondents is in a way influenced by their length of service. 4. The nurses are doing their job well as shown by their mean performance rating. 5. There was minimal relationship between the level of self-esteem and clinical performance rating.
